Hello Sunnies! 😊

I was really overwhelmed last night when I got a notification via comment section of my latest blog, Parish of Our Lady Mary Mediatrix of All Grace, from Zarbakht Bilal. I am really a fan of her writings and I was not expecting for such nomination. It is actually my first time to participate. Well, I would love to do more (if possible). Thanks a lot, Sweetie!

Since part of this nomination is to answer seven questions, here are my responses.

1. Who is your favorite visual artist?

It was way back March this year when I have learned about the Korean group, BtoB (their name stands for Born to Beat and they call their lovely family as Melodies. We have a Facebook group! If you want to be updated about BtoB check out BtoB International Melodies). If you have read my blog entitled, Let’s know more about the Writer, you probably knew that I am really a fan of Korean and Chinese artists! This group debuted 7 years ago and the awesome members are Seo Eunkwang, Lee Minhyuk, Lee Changsub, Im Hyunsik, Peniel Shin, Jung Il Hoon, and Yook Sungjae. Before, I only love Yook Sungjae but when I found out that he has been in a group for years, I’ve done some research and got to know more about the other 6 members. They are my happy pills and stress relievers aside from Park Seo Joon (my favorite Korean actor). Unfortunately, 3 of them are currently serving the Korean military and are supposed to be discharged after two years of entering. I love all their songs. They are the group with 7 vocals and 7 rappers. Aren’t they amazing?

2. Which is your favorite bird species?

Actually, I am not fond of birds but I am really happy hearing the talking ones while we had our trip to Palawan. Why don’t you read my post about that trip of mine? They are so cute and are actually talking like humans! Unbelievable!

3. Which is your favorite mammal species?

I really love dogs! When I was young, I was afraid of touching them as I see them quite dangerous. Every time I hear barking dogs, my heart really beats so hard (I guess much more than when I am with my partner). But just last year, we had a chance to own one. This is when I started to love them. We actually have a family dog and her name is “Fifi”.

4. What is your favorite insect?

To be honest, I hate insects – most especially those flying. I do not have a favorite, but I love looking at butterflies and ladybugs. I find them pretty and attractive. What do you think?

5. What is your favorite plant?

I love roses! I really believe roses are symbols of love and affection as well as purity.

6. Where do most visits to your blog come from?

I really thank Viaje ni Bree for continuously reading my posts and visiting my site (as well as the other readers and visitors). She was my batch mate back in college days and to my surprise, she as well owns her blog site! I just found out when she sent a message on my social media account. She is currently at Switzerland, working and exploring. If you love reading travel blogs and tips, you can check her site!

7. If you would be invited to make a space journey, then to which solar system planet would you like to go?

I always love the Earth – the place where all human beings are at. But if I would be given the opportunity to go on a trip to the space, I would like to visit not any planet but the sun of course. However, I know I would be burnt if I decided to! Therefore, next option is to visit the moon. I don’t know why but I am as well fascinated on how the moon looks – same admiration I feel for the sun.

Parish of Our Lady Mary Mediatrix of All Grace

Sunday has been considered the Family Day for most. The time we got to spend moments with our loved ones, go out and eat, and attend the mass.

Lipa, a city situated in the province of Batangas is considered as the 3rd coldest city in the Philippines next to Baguio and Tagaytay.

This city has a lot to offer to every tourist. Having astonishing resorts and vacation spots, good food from well-known restaurants, and hospitable people, you cannot ask for more. The city as well has amazing history written in books and magazines.

But aside from those mentioned, Lipa City had captured every Catholic’s heart because of the many churches located in it — reason why this city has been called as the “Little Rome of the Philippines”.

Back in the early days, the Philippines has been colonized by numerous countries. This is the main reason why we got a lot of similar beliefs and doings from foreign regions.

According to a study, 86% of the Filipinos are Roman Catholics. If you have visited the country, you will be seeing a lot of churches embedded with amazing history.

Among the many cities and places in the Philippines, Lipa got the most beautiful and astonishing ones wherein people can visit from to time to time or even during special religious events.

One of mentioned is the famous Parish of Our Lady Mary Mediatrix of All Grace situated at Antipolo Del Norte, Lipa City. This is just a kilometer away from the popular Mt. Carmel Church wherein the National Pilgrimage is being held. This parish has an amazing and great architectural design which was from the bright mind of Fr. Alex Bautista, a priest and an architect. His beautiful creation is evidently seen on below photos captured last June 30 when I attended the mass.

The land (1.2 hectare) wherein this church is currently located was donated by a kind-hearted man named Danny Dolor.

As you entered the church, you will be delighted on how astonishing the church is as you will be greeted by pathways with benches (wherein you can sit and rest as well) and lights (which are open at night).

There are a lot of people who attend the mass on this church. If you are a Filipino residing in the Philippines, it is a must to visit. Below are the mass schedules (if you’ve decided to):

Monday to Friday – 6:30 AM
Saturday, 6:30 AM (except first Saturday, no Mass at 6:30 AM) and 5:00 PM (Sunday Mass)
Sundays, 6:30 AM and 10:00 AM, 4:00 PM (English Mass) and 5:30 PM

You do not need to worry about the parking spaces since there are allotted areas for cars along the vicinity of the church.

You can also see a huge statue of the Mary Mediatrix of All Grace inside the church’s area.

Offering peaceful and solemn vibe, you can really feel the presence of the Lord as you pray.

A Poem: The Rain

I suddenly felt something on my face
Clear, transparent, clean, and tiny
Yes, these are droplets of rain

Half of the year had passed
Summer season has finally ended
No more beach, no more sand, no more trips I guess
It is the start of the rainy season

It is now a bit colder
People are now wearing jackets with thick and long sleeves
Umbrellas could be seen anywhere
Our shoes are getting wet
It is indeed the best time for movie marathons and coffee

But why do I feel sad about it?
The gloomy weather makes me gloomy as well
I am at home, writing, drinking coffee
I cannot find anything special about the rain

Some people love it
Some wish to stare at their windows and watch as these droplets fall
Some are mesmerized
Some are amazed
But I am not

I hate the rain
I hate that I cannot go out
I hate that I can’t do anything but to stay at home
Browsing.. Eating.. Reading.. Sleeping

Secrets to Long Lasting Relationships

Most people say that being in love is the best feeling in the world. You got to spend time with the person who keeps you happy, you got the feeling of being secured and accepted and you even got to feel all the butterflies in your stomach.

Love is magical. It makes you do any thing for a person you treasure. There is always light in the darkness, you can imagine even the unimaginable things, and promise to get even the moon and the stars.

If you have read my post entitled “Let’s know more about the writer”, you probably know that I have been in a relationship for almost 9 years now. Yes, 9 years, believe it or not, I have been with a guy I met 9 years ago.

Most of my friends or even those whom I just met always asked the secrets to last lasting relationship. I tend to answer all questions from time to time. This is why I have decided to share those in this blog post of mine.

Build the trust.

This is one of the most important things one should know in getting into a relationship. You need to build this and never ever ruin. Make your partner feel that you believe him and you are always at his side. This is one of the foundation of a long lasting relationship, the thing that keeps both of you going. If you trust the person you love, he will feel all the security and freedom.

Put your partner on your priority list.

Every person wants to feel being the priority. In a relationship, it is best to let your partner feel that you are prioritizing him. Accompany him anywhere he wants to go, spend time with him, go on trips with him, and never ever forget to send even simple chats and messages. Believe me, your presence would really mean a lot.

Give each other the chance to make a decision.

In a relationship, you should treat each other as “equals”. Before looking and delving into something, always ask for his suggestions or thoughts. Remember, you don’t need to always get his approval, you just need to let him know what you are into.

Let your partner go out with friends.

I don’t know what is wrong with a person who never lets his partner to go out with friends. Remember, the world does not spin just for the two of you only. You both need to have friends you can mingle with. It would be boring if you would spend all your time together.

Date your partner.

Most couples tend to forget to go on dates after being together for several years or after getting married. This is a big “don’t”. Know that you still need to spend some time together though you are both busy on your own businesses (be it work, school, or anything). An hour or two at a cafe or restaurant would do.

“How was your day?”

Do not forget as well to ask him about how his day went. There is this happiness being felt every time someone asked what you have been to. Listen to your partner and give some time even for short conversations.

Gifts do not matter that much.

When you are in love, material things do not matter that much. It would be great if both of you have this futuristic mind. Thinking about your future and preparing for it as well is of course better than flowers, gifts, and chocolates.

Do not forget your anniversary date.

Of course, this one’s important as well. Taking note of your Anniversary date is a must. As I have mentioned above, there is no need for fancy gifts — greeting your partner just in time would make him feel all the love.

Visualize the future with him.

When entering into a relationship, always think that you’ll both end up being together. Relationships are not experiments that you’ll finish after just a couple of weeks or months.

Put God in the center of your relationship.

This is of course the most important tip you should keep. If you both trust God’s plan, you are in the right way. If you got issues and problems, pray. If you are both happy, pray. Attend masses together and keep God as your relationship’s foundation. Remember, you can overcome everything with him.

Love is indeed in the air. This term has been described and defined by a lot of people before and lots are still in the midst of finding out its true definition. However, you will only know the real meaning of this word if you, yourself, had experienced its magic.

Some people say falling in love is hard, falling in love drives you crazy.

Some say falling in love makes you think of becoming all impossible things possible.

They say love conquers all.

But most people are still having some hard times in identifying what they truly feel about the person.

You cannot stop thinking about the person.

If you feel uneasy and you keep on thinking about that person all throughout the day, you must be in love! His words and even actions keep on running on your mind though you are not seeing him. You can see him every where and you dream about him at night.

If you are worried about the person — whether he already ate his food, got home safe, or even slept well, that could be a sign! You see yourself offering help about something and spending time with him.

Though people say a lot of bad things about him, you are still looking at him like he got all the positive things in the world — good looks, attitude, good life, and more.

You always check on your phone and your social media accounts.

You are now excited to check new messages on your phone and even on your social media accounts. A simple “hi” or “hello” from him makes your heart happy.

Passion Vs. Needs

People nowadays tend to look for high paying jobs which will sustain and support their needs in life — good food, good home, education for children, and a lot more.

Many of us are currently working on certain companies of our choice. Most of us could be graduates of engineering, medicine, law, education, and more. Some got jobs inclined with what they studied in universities and some are at firms they actually never imagined they would be at.

But, have you ever think about this thought?

“Am I doing this because I need to or because I love to?”

Others would answer “because they need to” and others might choose “because I love to”. If you got both, then you are lucky!

Being at a job you love is really awesome. You got to enjoy every single thing you are doing at the office. Because your passion drives you to continue, you do not mind about any problem or difficulty and just continue doing it. Every day is an amazing day for you. You are excited to get up in the morning and go to work. Everything seemed to be easy if you love what you are up to.

If you are doing a thing just because you need to, you will possibly end up with a certain point in life wherein you wanted to quit. Because you are thinking that you need to do this, you just continue. Everything is different. You got to do things because you are required to and because you have to earn some money to support yourself and your family.

Study Habits: A guide for Students

I am an Industrial Engineer by profession (read my blog post entitled “Let’s know more about the Writer” to know more about me ❤ ) and it took me five long years to finish and finally graduate with a degree. Then, I have spent some more months to review and be able to pass the certification.

The journey was too tough and it required me to study much more than I thought I would.

During my college days, my friends and classmates usually ask about my study habits. I cannot say I am that good at school but sometimes, I also excel. 🙂

Another school year entered and most students at the moment might be facing lots of hardships and difficulties while studying. Questions like “why do I need to do this?”, “will I be able to use this at work?”, “why do we have lots of home works and projects?”, are usually heard. Moms and dads are probably having some hard time with their kids as well.

If you are curious on how I excelled at school, keep on reading this article as I will be sharing some study tips for students. 🙂

Make sure to come and attend classes on time.

This one’s cliche but I do believe you should always come to school on time (or earlier if you can). Having yourself prepared before the class starts is a good way to relax both your physical and mental being.

I strongly recommend to sit in front.

Most students nowadays love sitting at the back of the class. I am not sure about their reasons but I would recommend to sit in front. I just believe you can be more focused on the class if you are hearing the instructor clearly.

Keep taking notes during class discussions.

During class hours, I always take down notes. Yes, anything being discussed at classes could be found in books, however, by rewriting, I can somehow remember important points shared by the instructors. Without my own notes, I don’t think I can survive.

When you got home, allot some minutes to read.

I usually allot some minutes at home to review all the topics discussed during the day. Based on studies, you cannot grasp all the ideas taught within just a span of time (well, if you are genius, of course you can). Reading some at the end of the day will help you refresh your mind.

Avoid studying the night before your examination.

It is definitely wrong to force yourself to study all night long before the day of your exam. Most students do this. However, you might end up tired and sleepy during the day. I would suggest to study 3 days prior to the examination day and just do some quick glances from time to time. Before the big day, you should take some rest and prepare yourself for the battle.

Avoid stressing yourself too much about deadlines.

At school, we are given lots of projects to finish. Having numerous subjects and requirements, we sometimes feel stressed and tired. If you feel like you are not that productive and efficient, give yourself some time to relax.

Finish and submit all paper works earlier than the deadline!

Hitting the deadline is good, but passing those earlier is great. If you think you can finish a task earlier than required, do it. Do not wait for some more days if you can do things now.

Of course, do not forget to always pray and ask his guidance.

Managing your Finances : The Simplest Way for young adults

At a young age, we usually do not think much about how to handle our finances. As young adults, most of us want to buy anything we could think of — new phone or gadgets, clothing, bags, and a lot more. As long as we were able to survive for a certain period of time, we just continue spending. After all, the reason why we earn is to spend, right?

However, we should keep in mind that as we spend, we should still limit ourselves from buying things we do not need that much.

I would like to share some tips on how you can manage your hard – earned money effectively and efficiently.

Know how much you are earning and make sure that you have your daily, weekly, or monthly budget. Creating such will let you track your expenses for a certain period of time. Moreover, you could get a glimpse of how much is only intended for a specific thing.
Know all your bills and the deadline for each. As we grow up, we became more aware on the dues we need to pay. Making sure you’ll pay on time will lessen possible interest and hassle on your side. Setting some reminders on your phone will help a lot to ensure that you’ll be paying just on time.
Avoid buying things you don’t actually need and know your limit. Try to prioritize the things which are really necessary. Buying a new phone while you still have one is an example. It is not bad to treat yourself sometimes, but do not exceed your limit.
Make sure to keep some percentage of your income as savings. Usually, most people used to keep 20% of their monthly income. This will of course depend on you, if you would want to keep more, much better. Just keep in mind that you should separate this 20% first before allotting money for your expenses.
Try to build your emergency fund. You can use this money in case you encountered an unwanted incident.
Another great recommendation is to invest. Investing at an early age is really beneficial. You got yourself insured and the same time, your investment gains profit.

Life and Death

We were all blessed to have witnessed the beautiful creations of God. There are a lot of things we should be thankful for — having our family and loved ones beside us, having a shelter and home to live at, enough food to eat, and many more.

Just today, I have heard a sad news from a colleague of mine. An accident happened nearby and two people were badly hurt. Upon finding out, they just got married two years ago — still in the stage of enjoying their married life, enjoying the moments of living together, planning the future, and figuring out where to go next.

I was a bit shocked about this news and had came up with a realization that life is indeed short. You could be healthy, kicking, and alive now, but you are not certain on what will happen next.

If you are unhappy at the moment, keep in mind that there are a lot of people feeling the same way — or even worse. Do not feel so stressed and depressed on what’s happening. You can get through it.

If you got problems you feel you can’t solve, do not think that much. Smile and breathe. Everything will pass.

If you have the time to go out and do something you want, do it. You can never get back to the time lapsed. Seize every moment.

If you have found the person you wanted to spend your life with, express all the love. Do not wait for a second chance as it might not come. Do it now.

If you feel sorry about a person, tell him.

If you can do something now, do it.

We are all aware that we begin with “life” and will end with “death”. Some people are afraid about the idea of dying, some say they are prepared.

We never know what tomorrow holds.

Life and death are both uncertain.

Happy Father’s Day!

Today, we are celebrating Father’s Day — a day dedicated for all dads and father figures out there.

For all the hardworking fathers, we truly thank you.

We fully understand that you do not have that much time to spend with us due to workloads and office works. We know how hard at your side to spend most of your time in earning enough amount of penny to support us. Do not feel guilty every time you weren’t able to attend all school activities. We are grateful that you are doing all the means to provide us the life we deserve.

For all the fathers at home, we truly thank you.

We appreciate all your efforts in doing all the tasks usually done by moms. Thank you for cooking our favorite breakfast – pancakes, bacon, bread, and milk, for preparing our lunch boxes, for sending us to school, and for fetching us once classes are done. We were able to get good grades all thanks to your patience every time we need to accomplish home works and projects. Thank you for preparing everything we need.

For the all the father figures, we truly thank you.

Without you, we cannot possibly survive. Anyone could be a father. We salute you for being moms and dads to your children or for being a brother/sister and father to your siblings. We might not have the real father at home but because of what you are doing, we feel like we have.

For all the fathers-to-be, we truly thank you.

We are grateful that you wanted to see and finally hug us. We are happy that you are excited to take good care of us. Thank you for thinking about your future with us.

For all the fathers who passed away, we truly thank you.

We are grateful to have shared our life with you. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to see how beautiful the world is. We’ll forever cherish all the memories we had together.
